Laws of Chanukkah
- On the eve 25th day of the month of Kislev we start to light Chanukkah candles.
- Many women are accustomed not to work while the candles are lit.
- It is preferable to put the candles in the door way on the left side of the door, the Mezuzah is on the right side. When you go through the door you are surrounded by Mitzvot. Today in many stores they sell glass boxes with the Chanukkah Menorah inside of it this should be places on a chair close to the door.
- For those who have a gate before the entrance the candles should be lit there for all to see. If this gate has no Mezuzah then the candles should be placed on the right side.
